Parents / Athletes:
Here is a 'one-page' version of the season schedule for VolleyFreak, Jr. This could be very helpful for your all. But, please, stay active on the website. There is always a chance that a tournament could change or a practice could get moved. We'll do our best to communicate it with everyone.
Thank you!

Please read this carefully! This is implemented as part of our Volleyfreak Jr. club poilicy.
USAV and OVR rule and procedural changes for 2010 Junior tournaments
Warm-ups: During each team’s full-court warm-up segment, the opposing team may NOT practice with balls in the free zone surrounding the court. Teams must go to their team bench. USAV rulebook, page 26, 7.2.2B
Support Officials: Pool Play and Tournament: A coach must be courtside if their team is acting as the support team. For pool play and tournament, teams are required to supply the following support officials for pool play and for the playoffs: one second referee, two line judges, one scorer, one assistant scorer/Libero tracker, and one scoreboard operator. If necessary, the assistant scorer may also serve as the scoreboard operator. Any support official who will be working during a match is responsible to report to the official on the court as follows: The R2 and scorekeeper shall report to the court official at the coin toss. If these two officials have not reported by the beginning of the serving team’s timed warm-up, a point will be given to their next opponent. An additional point will be given for each additional minute that they have not reported. The assistant scorer, scoreboard operator, and the line judges shall report to the court official no later than the beginning of the receiving team’s timed warm-up. Failure to report to the court official by all the work crew by this time shall give up one point to their opponent. An additional point will be given for each additional minute that the work crew is incomplete. This is to be administered by the tournament director. If no additional matches are to be played in that tournament, the tournament director shall file an incident report with the OVR commissioner and a $50 fine shall be imposed.
Video Recording, Photography, and Other Electronic Devices: Flash photography is prohibited during play. Use of video recorders and cameras is limited to the team with which the person using the device is directly associated. Use of phones, musical devices and other electronic devices (excluding medical devices) is strictly prohibited by support officials. If anyone from the support team is found using one of these devices, their team shall give up ten points to their next opponent. This is to be administered by the tournament director. If no additional matches are to be played in that tournament, the tournament director shall file an incident report with the OVR commissioner and a $50 fine shall be imposed.

Thank you all for voting on a potential logo re-design. After roughly 100 votes, the leading options were the following:
VERSUS
The two were nearly tied at roughly 25% of our voting!
With that in mind, we have decide to stick with the original artwork. Thank you Coach Moinette for all of your great ideas for alternatives. Please hang on to them for the future -- maybe we can get t-shirts made of the other designs. |
